AES Chile received an important recognition from GB&M, being awarded the “Sponsor of the Year” distinction in the 2026 edition of this prestigious award program. The award recognizes the most outstanding financial transactions in Latin America and the Caribbean across areas such as capital markets, corporate finance, and structured lending, among others.

Javier Dib, CEO of AES Andes, said, “This recognition is a tangible demonstration of the market’s confidence in our ability to execute our long‑term growth strategy in Chile.” He added, “As a company, we are very proud to receive this distinction, which reflects not only the strength of our financial model, but also the rigorous and committed work of our teams in successfully structuring and closing the financing of five Project Finance transactions associated with renewable energy projects in Chile, totaling US$1.745 billion.”

The funds obtained through these transactions will be used to build the Andes Solar III, Arenales, Cristales, Pampas, and Atacama renewable energy projects, all located in northern Chile. Once operational, these projects will contribute 2,216 MW to the national electric system and will help maintain leadership in the operation of battery energy storage systems in Latin America.

  • Andes Solar III will contribute 171 MW of solar generation and 171 MW of battery storage
  • Arenales is a 300 MW energy storage project
  • Cristales includes 288 MW of solar generation and an additional 340 MW of battery storage
  • Pampas integrates solar generation (229 MW), wind generation (128 MW), and 340 MW of storage
