Mariana Soto returns to AES Chile and assumes as Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability
Santiago, May 26, 2022. Mariana Soto Espinosa yesterday assumed the position of Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at AES Chile, returning to the company where she served between 2010 and 2019.
The attorney from Universidad de Chile was Undersecretary of Energy during the first administration of President Michelle Bachelet. Before returning to AES Chile, she was president of the Chilean Association of Gaming Casinos (ACCJ, for its acronym in Spanish). Previously, she served as Vice President of Sustainability at WOM.
“I’m very excited about my return to the energy sector and AES, which is like returning home, but even more so: to collaborate with the great challenge of decarbonizing the company’s portfolio, driving the responsible energy transformation towards renewable and sustainable energies,” stated the executive.
Mariana Soto will contribute with all her experience to accelerate the future of energy and will support the implementation of the AES Chile’s Greentegra strategy, which aims to speed up the energy transformation of the company and fight against climate change.
