AES Chile is the First Company in the Energy Sector to be Certified to the Chilean Standard on Reconciliation of Family, Personal and Work Life
- The 3262 Certification confirms the Company’s commitment to society and its responsible development.
November 29, 2021.- AES Chile took a transcendental step in terms of diversity and inclusion to further strengthen itself as one of the best companies to work in the country.
After two years of hard work, the Company was certified to the Chilean Standard 3262 on Gender Equality and Reconciliation of Work, Family and Personal Life.
With this, AES Chile became the first company in the energy industry to obtain this certification, which confirms its commitment to society and responsible development, through concrete initiatives such as the implementation of principles and practices of gender equality, detection and elimination of discriminatory actions and gaps in this area.
Carla Requena, Human Resources Manager of AES Chile, stated that “with the implementation of this standard, as a company, we become transparently accountable for our social and environmental impacts, as well as for the evolution of the legal aspects in terms of gender equality and reconciliation.”
The executive commented that the process - led by Cindy Bravo González, HR Business Partner of the AES Chile’s North Complex, began in early 2020, with the commitment of the Management to the creation of the Gender Committee and the implementation of an Integrated Management System, followed by an organizational diagnosis with a gender perspective, to then work on the design and implementation of a work plan and the subsequent assessment and certification.
Requena added that the declaration of the AES Chile Gender Equality Policy “is based on our conviction that a culture composed of mixed teams, as well as a work dynamic that favors them in the field of reconciling work, personal and family life, contribute to the growth, productivity and sustainability of our organization and stakeholders.”
The certification is added to other awards that the Company has received in labor and social matters. Last March, AES Chile was recognized as one of the ten best companies to work in the country and one of the seven best companies for women, according to the Great Place To Work 2020 Ranking, in the category of companies with more than 1000 employees.
Through its Diversity and Inclusion Policy, created in 2019, AES Chile adhered to the Gender Equality Index Initiative, promoted by the World Economic Forum and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in addition to being part of the “Energía +Mujer” Program of the Ministry of Energy.
The Company continues to be committed to diversity and inclusion as a key aspect of its strategy.
